Defending champion Putnam County received two first-place votes and was picked second. Gallatin was picked third by the coaches. Maysville Maysville had one of its best seasons in school history last year. They finished 25-2 overall and 5-1 in the GRC. They also won the District Championship and the Gallatin and King City tournaments. This year, Todd Mercer takes over the reins. The Wolverines would like to build on the success from last season. Last season, they finished 3 rd behind Worth County and Princeton. The Lions received six first-place votes. Princeton received one first-place vote and was picked to finish second. Defending champion St. Joseph Christian was picked to finish sixth. Princeton Princeton Lady Tigers finished last season with a record of 19-7 overall and 6-2 in the conference. They also won the Gilman City Tournament for the first time since 2020. For the second straight week, the Tigers were behind with 1:00 left in the game.  And for the second straight week, the Tigers would score and hold on for a win.  This time, a 48-yard catch from Lucas Frisch set up a Landon Wilmes 3-yard run to put the Tigers up 40-34 with 53 seconds left in the game. It gave them a 30-28 lead. It looked like their lead would hold up when Worth County had a 4th and 7 at their own 32 with 2:33 left in the game. Hayden Sanders' pass was incomplete, but a Platte Valley defender committed pass interference, giving the Tigers new life. With 39 seconds left in the game, Sanders found Karson Briner open in the end zone for a 14-yard touchdown.  Platte Valley had one last chance, but Worth County's pressure on a 4th and 5 at midfield led to an incomplete pass by Clements and a turnover on downs.   Worth County went into victory formation to end the game.
