GRC Showcase Scenarios

Earlier, I shared information about the GRC Showcase in this post:

The placement of the games will be based on the order of finish.  At this point, there are 8 conference games left for both boys and girls (3 West and 5 East Division).  Here are scenarios for each:

Note that they scenarios are unofficial.  No games are official until an announcement from the Conference office.

GRC West

The 3 games remaining are:

  • King City at Pattonsburg (2/7/22)
  • St. Joseph Christian (SJCS) at Albany (2/7/22) - Boys Only
  • Pattonsburg at Worth County (2/9/22)
GRC West Girls

#1 - Will Play for the Conference Championship at 6:00 pm
SJCS will finish #1

#2 - Will Play at 3:00 pm
If Pattonsburg wins at least one of its remaining games, Pattonsburg finishes #2
If Pattonsburg loses both games, North Andrew finishes #2

#3 - Will Play at 12:00 pm
If Pattonsburg wins at least one of its remaining games, North Andrew finishes #3
If Pattonsburg loses both games, Stanberry finishes #3

#4 - Will Play at 9:00 am
If Pattonsburg wins at least one of its remaining games, Stanberry finishes #4
If Pattonsburg loses both games, King City finishes #4

#5 - Will Play at 6:00 pm
If Pattonsburg wins at least one of its remaining games, King City finishes #5
If Pattonsburg loses both games, then Pattonsburg finishes #5

#6 - Will Play at 3:00 pm
North Harrison will finish #6

#7 - Will Play at 12:00 pm
Worth County will finish #7

GRC West Boys

#1 - Will Play for the Conference Championship at 7:30 pm
Stanberry will finish #1

Winner of the Albany-SJCS game will finish #3

#4 - Will Play at 10:30 am
Loser of the Albany-SJCS game will finish #4

If King City defeats Pattonsburg, then King City finishes #6
If Pattonsburg wins both games, then Pattonsburg finishes #6
If Pattonsburg defeats King City by 9 or more and loses to Worth County, then Pattonsburg finishes #6
If Pattonsburg defeats King City by 8 or less and loses to Worth County, then King City finishes #6

#7 - Will Play at 1:30 pm
If King City defeats Pattonsburg, then North Harrison finishes #7
If Pattonsburg wins both games, then King City finishes #7
If Pattonsburg defeats King City by 9 or more and loses to Worth County, then King City finishes #7
If Pattonsburg defeats King City by 8 or less and loses to Worth County, then Pattonsburg finishes #7

#8 - Will Play at 10:30 pm
If King City defeats Pattonsburg, then Pattonsburg finishes #8
If Pattonsburg defeats King City, then North Harrison finishes #8

GRC East

The 5 games remaining are:

  • Princeton at Putnam County (2/3/22 - Now rescheduled for 2/9/22)
  • Putnam County at Trenton (2/7/22)
  • Gallatin at Maysville (2/7/22)
  • Milan at Trenton (2/8/22)
  • Maysville at Putnam County (2/10/22)
GRC East Girls

#1 - Will Play for the Conference Championship at 6:00 pm
If Milan defeats Trenton, then Milan finishes #1
If Putnam County defeats Trenton, then Milan finishes #1
If Trenton defeats Putnam County and Milan, then Trenton finishes #1

#2 - Will Play at 3:00 pm
If Trenton defeats Putnam County and Milan, then Milan finishes #2
If Putnam County defeats Princeton and Trenton wins exactly one of its remaining two games, then Trenton finishes #2
If Princeton defeats Putnam County and Trenton loses at least one of its remaining two games, then Princeton finishes #2
If Putnam County defeats Princeton and Trenton but loses to Maysville and Milan defeats Trenton, then Polo finishes #2
If Putnam County defeats Princeton, Trenton and Maysville and Milan defeats Trenton, then there is a 5-way tie between Polo, Princeton, Putnam County, South Harrison and Trenton that will be broken by scoring margin in the games between each team.

If Princeton defeats Putnam County and Trenton defeats Putnam County and Milan, then Princeton finishes #3
If Putnam County defeats Princeton and Trenton wins at least one of its remaining two games, then Polo finishes #3

If Princeton defeats Putnam County, then Polo finishes #4

If Putnam County defeats Princeton and Trenton but loses to Maysville and Milan defeats Trenton, then Trenton finishes #4

If Putnam County defeats Princeton, Trenton and Maysville and Trenton defeats Milan, then there is a 3-way tie between Princeton, Putnam County and South Harrison that will be broken by scoring margin:
    If Putnam County defeats Princeton by 9 or less, then South Harrison finishes #5
    If Putnam County defeats Princeton by 10 to 12, then Princeton finishes #5
    If Putnam County defeats Princeton by 13 to 16, then Putnam County finishes #5
    If Putnam County defeats Princeton by 17 or more, then South Harrison finishes #5
All Other Scenarios, South Harrison finishes #5

#6 - Will Play at 3:00 pm
If Putnam County defeats Princeton, Trenton and Maysville and Milan defeats Trenton, then there is a 5-way tie between Polo, Princeton, Putnam County, South Harrison and Trenton that will be broken by scoring margin in the games between each team.
If Putnam County defeats Princeton, Trenton and Maysville and Trenton defeats Milan, then there is a 3-way tie between Princeton, Putnam County and South Harrison that will be broken by scoring margin:
    If Putnam County defeats Princeton by 12 or less, then Putnam County finishes #6
    If Putnam County defeats Princeton by 13 or more, then Princeton finishes #6
If Putnam County loses last three and Gallatin defeats Maysville, then there is a 3-way tie between Gallatin, Maysville and Putnam County that will be broken by scoring margin in the games between each team
If Maysville defeats Gallatin and Putnam County and Putnam County loses at least one of its other two games, then Maysville finishes #6
All Other Scenarios, Putnam County finishes #6

#7 - Will Play at 12:00 pm
If Putnam County loses last three and Gallatin defeats Maysville, then there is a 3-way tie between Gallatin, Maysville and Putnam County that will be broken by scoring margin in the games between each team
If Maysville defeats Gallatin and Putnam County and Putnam County loses at least one of its other two games, then Putnam County finishes #7
All Other Scenarios, the winner of the Maysville-Gallatin game finishes #7

#8 - Will Play at 9:00 am
If Putnam County loses last three and Gallatin defeats Maysville, then there is a 3-way tie between Gallatin, Maysville and Putnam County that will be broken by scoring margin in the games between each team
Otherwise, the loser of the Maysville-Gallatin game finishes #8

GRC East Boys

#1 - Will Play for the Conference Championship at 7:30 pm
If Putnam County defeats Princeton and Trenton, Gallatin defeats Maysville and Maysville defeats Putnam County, then there is a 3-way tie between Gallatin, Maysville and Putnam County that will be broken by scoring margin in the games between each team
If Putnam County defeats Maysville and wins at least one of its other two games, then Putnam County finishes #1
If Putnam County defeats Maysville, but loses to Princeton and Trenton, then the winner of the Gallatin-Maysville game finishes #1
If Maysville defeats Putnam County and Gallatin, the Maysville finishes #1
If Putnam County loses at least one of the games against Princeton or Trenton, Gallatin defeats Maysville and Maysville defeats Putnam County, then Gallatin finishes #1


#2 - Will Play at 4:30 pm
If Putnam County defeats Princeton and Trenton, Gallatin defeats Maysville and Maysville defeats Putnam County, then there is a 3-way tie between Gallatin, Maysville and Putnam County that will be broken by scoring margin in the games between each team
If Putnam County defeats Maysville and wins at least one of its other two games, then the winner of the Gallatin-Maysville game finishes #2
If Putnam County defeats Maysville, but loses to Princeton and Trenton, then Putnam County finishes #2
If Maysville defeats Putnam County and Gallatin and Putnam County wins at least one of its other two games, then Putnam County finishes #2
If Maysville defeats Putnam County and Gallatin and Putnam County loses its other two games, then Gallatin finishes #2
If Putnam County loses at least one of the games against Princeton or Trenton, Gallatin defeats Maysville and Maysville defeats Putnam County, then Maysville finishes #2

#3 - Will Play at 1:30 pm
If Putnam County defeats Princeton and Trenton, Gallatin defeats Maysville and Maysville defeats Putnam County, then there is a 3-way tie between Gallatin, Maysville and Putnam County that will be broken by scoring margin in the games between each team
If Putnam County defeats Maysville, then the loser of the Gallatin-Maysville game finishes #3
If Maysville defeats Putnam County and Gallatin and Putnam County wins at least one of its other two games, then Gallatin finishes #3
If Maysville defeats Putnam County and Gallatin and Putnam County loses its other two games, then Putnam County finishes #3
If Putnam County loses at least one of the games against Princeton or Trenton, Gallatin defeats Maysville and Maysville defeats Putnam County, then Putnam County finishes #3

#4 - Will Play at 10:30 am
Milan will finish #4

#5 - Will Play at 7:30 pm
Polo will finish #5

#6 - Will Play at 4:30 pm
South Harrison will finish #6

#7 - Will Play at 1:30 pm
If Trenton wins both of its remaining games and Putnam County defeats Princeton, then Trenton finishes #7
Otherwise Princeton finishes #7

#8 - Will Play at 10:30 am
If Trenton wins both of its remaining games and Putnam County defeats Princeton, then Princeton finishes #8
Otherwise Trenton finishes #8

Bell Game Rivalry joins the GRC

by Jeremy Benson, GrandRiverConference.com It's a mere 12 miles that separate Brookfield High School and Marceline High School, as per Google Maps.  But what's truly remarkable is the 54-year hiatus since these two schools last clashed in a conference football game. Brookfield and Marceline were both in the North Central Missouri Conference (NCMC) in 1970.  In 1970, the NCMC decided to fold.  A new conference with the same name would be organized,  Brookfield remained in a revamped NCMC from 1971 to 1975 before going independent until 1986, when they joined the Tri-Rivers Conference.  They jumped to the Clarence Cannon Conference (CCC) in 2010. Marceline was in the Northern Missouri Conference from 1971 to 1974 before joining the Lewis & Clark Conference in 1975, where they would be members for almost 50 years.
