Bishop LeBlond Holiday Tournament - Boys Third Place - North Andrew vs. Plattsburg

North Andrew Boys will play Plattsburg in the 3rd Place game of the Bishop LeBlond Holiday Tournament at 5:30 on December 29.

North Andrew defeated East Buchanan in the first round of the tournament 49-41, but lost to Bishop LeBlond 59-22 in the semifinals.  

North Andrew is looking to end a 4-game losing streak to Plattsburg.  They have lost to Plattsburg twice each of the last two seasons.

North Andrew comes into the game with a record of 5-4.

Three North Andrew players are in double figures with Owen Graham leading at 16.8 points per game.  He is followed by Hayden Ecker at 16.0 points per game and Braxon Linville with 12.5 points per game.  Ecker is leading the GRC with 3.3 3-point FGs made per game.

Plattsburg scores 4 straight and then Payton Simmons scores a bucket.  Plattsburg answers with a 3.  Graham then gets a bucket down low.  11-7 Plattsburg with 4:00 left.

Graham with another bucket.  Now 11-9 Plattsburg with 2:55 left.

Plattsburg with a 5-0 run.  Cardinals calls a timeout.  16-9 Plattsburg leads with 2:15 left.

Plattsburg closes the quarter with an 11-0 run.  They lead the Cardinals 22-9.

2nd Quarter

Graham opens the quarter with a bucket.  Plattsburg answers.  Graham with another bucket.  He is fouled.  He hits the free throw.  25-14 Plattsburg. 6:30 left.

Plattsburg with a 6-0 run.  North Andrew with another timeout with 5:31 left.  Plattsburg is now up 31-14.

Plattsburg extends their run to 13-0.  They are up 38-14 with 3:00 left.

North Andrew's shooting has gone ice cold.  Plattsburg's run is up to 15-0.  They lead 40-14 with 1:35 left.

Payton Simmons ends the run with a free throw.  40-15 with 1:00 left.

Plattsburg opens with a 6-0 run to extend the lead to 46-15 with 6:40 left.

Plattsburg extends to 10-0 run.  Graham is fouled, but can't stop the bleeding.  Now 50-15 with 5:20 left.

Plattsburg continues its run with a 3 and another bucket.  Now at 15 straight and 30 of the last 31 points.  It is 55-15 Plattsburg with 3:49 left.

Couper Simmons ends a 20-0 run with a bucket.  Now 60-17 with 2:30 left.

Patterson then hits a bucket to make it 60-19.  Plattsburg answers.  Now 62-19.  1:38 left.

Graham with a bucket.  And then Couper Simmons hits a shot at the buzzer.  64-23 Plattsburg at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

4th Quarter

Running clock to start the 4th.

Aiden Miller is fouled and hits one free throw.  Plattsburg with a bucket.  66-24 with 6:30 left.

Jarom Russo hits 2 free throws.  Score is now 70-26 with 3:15 left.

Bell Game Rivalry joins the GRC

by Jeremy Benson, GrandRiverConference.com It's a mere 12 miles that separate Brookfield High School and Marceline High School, as per Google Maps.  But what's truly remarkable is the 54-year hiatus since these two schools last clashed in a conference football game. Brookfield and Marceline were both in the North Central Missouri Conference (NCMC) in 1970.  In 1970, the NCMC decided to fold.  A new conference with the same name would be organized,  Brookfield remained in a revamped NCMC from 1971 to 1975 before going independent until 1986, when they joined the Tri-Rivers Conference.  They jumped to the Clarence Cannon Conference (CCC) in 2010. Marceline was in the Northern Missouri Conference from 1971 to 1974 before joining the Lewis & Clark Conference in 1975, where they would be members for almost 50 years.
