GRC/GRC West Week 4 Power Poll

Week 4 of high school football has been completed.  Both conferences are in the middle of conference play.

GRC (11-Man)
With nine teams in the conference, every week will feature four conference games and one non-conference game.  All but South Harrison played a conference game this week.  Here are the results for Week 4.

#1 Brookfield 54 #7 Polo 20
Brookfield and Polo face each other for the first time. (Since 2007)

#2 South Harrison 22 Scotland County 15
South Harrison defeats Scotland County for the second straight season.  They defeated Scotland County 38-6 last season.

#4 Milan 40 #3 Marceline 14
Milan defeats Marceline for the second straight season.  They defeated Marceline 26-21 in Districts last season.

#8 Trenton 35 #5 Gallatin 12
Trenton defeats Gallatin for the second straight season.  Gallatin had defeated Trenton 7 straight before last year.

#6 Putnam County 36 #9 Maysville 8
Putnam and Maysville have split their last four games.  The home team has won the last four games and is 8-1 in this series.

The GRC West continues conference play.  Here are the results for Week 4:

#2 Albany 36 #1 Worth County 34
Albany defeated Worth County for the second time in three years (both by the score of 36-34). It is the first time Albany has defeated Worth County on the road since joining 8-man.

#4 North Andrew 26 #3 St. Joseph Christian 12
North Andrew wins their 17th straight over St. Joseph Christian.

#5 King City 64 #6 Princeton 62
King City and Princeton split their last two games, and the road team won both.

#8 Pattonsburg 58 #7 Stanberry 22
Pattonsburg snaps a 4-game losing streak vs. Stanberry.

by Jeremy Benson, GrandRiverConference.com It's a mere 12 miles that separate Brookfield High School and Marceline High School, as per Google Maps.  But what's truly remarkable is the 54-year hiatus since these two schools last clashed in a conference football game. Brookfield and Marceline were both in the North Central Missouri Conference (NCMC) in 1970.  In 1970, the NCMC decided to fold.  A new conference with the same name would be organized,  Brookfield remained in a revamped NCMC from 1971 to 1975 before going independent until 1986, when they joined the Tri-Rivers Conference.  They jumped to the Clarence Cannon Conference (CCC) in 2010. Marceline was in the Northern Missouri Conference from 1971 to 1974 before joining the Lewis & Clark Conference in 1975, where they would be members for almost 50 years. GRC Boys Basketball 2024-25 Season Preview

by Jeremy Benson, GrandRiverConference.com Sponsored by Maysville received six first-place votes and is the coaches' pick to repeat as GRC Boys Basketball Champions for the 2024-25 season. Defending champion Putnam County received two first-place votes and was picked second. Gallatin was picked third by the coaches. Maysville Maysville had one of its best seasons in school history last year. They finished 25-2 overall and 5-1 in the GRC. They also won the District Championship and the Gallatin and King City tournaments. This year, Todd Mercer takes over the reins. The Wolverines would like to build on the success from last season.
